Google Uses HTML5 for New Freddie Mercury Doodle

Google is well known for their logo doodles, which have featured Pac-Man, Les Paul, I Love Lucy and other notable animations. Using HTML5, this week they celebrated Freddie Mercury of Queen, and showcased an animated performance of “Don’t Stop Me Now.”

Google has used HTML5 for all of their animated logo doodles, including a recent animated doodle that featured scenes from famous I Love Lucy episodes, displayed within a small, old-fashioned television. Google doesn’t advertise their doodles, but they have gained the attention of the media, and continue to provide a glimpse of the potential of HTML5, JavaScript and CSS3.
